As I prepare to finish university, Purpose Lab has played an important role in developing my confidence and transferable skills. PGL Beyond has launched its Beyond Impact Report at the House of Commons, bringing together Parliamentarians, education leaders, delivery partners and members of the Purpose Coalition to examine how enrichment and experiential learning can support social mobility across the UK.

The work of The Purpose Coalition starts from a simple premise: tackling complex social challenges demands collaboration that is practical, accountable and prepared to challenge the status quo. That is why the recent announcement that two Coalition partners, E.ON Next and The Wise Group, are joining forces with Glasgow City Council to help ease child poverty matters so much.

In a recent Purpose Lab session, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) explored with students what its mission to be there for everybody on their lifelong adventures with gardening means in practice, and how horticulture can be made more accessible and relevant to a wider audience.  

Gareth Bacon MP visited Bell Group’s Orpington base to see how one of the UK’s largest property services contractors is supporting local families, creating skilled jobs, and delivering housing improvements that benefit the community.

Clive Efford MP visited the University of Greenwich’s Eltham Campus to meet staff and students and to see firsthand how new technology is being used to strengthen teacher training. 

From day one, Purpose Lab felt different. Instead of treating social, ethical and environmental responsibility as a nice “extra,” it puts them right at the centre of how organisations work.
