On the 20th of November, I had the privilege of attending the Purpose Lab Celebratory Reception in London, an experience that became more than just an event.

In a recent Purpose Lab session, students met Leonardo to explore routes into aerospace and defence, what the work involves, and how access can be widened for people from all backgrounds. 

A new Purpose Coalition report, Breaking Down Barriers to Construction, has been launched today, setting out a programme of action to deliver equality of opportunity in one of the UK’s most important sectors. 

NCG launched its new Breaking Down Barriers Impact Report at a reception in the House of Commons, in partnership with The Purpose Coalition. The report showcases how NCG is enabling social mobility and economic prosperity through exceptional education, and how colleges can be a first-choice route into skilled work and higher learning.

Attending the Purpose Lab Celebratory Reception in London was a defining moment for me as a Student Ambassador and as someone committed to driving positive change.

The Purpose Coalition convened its Business Leadership Advisory Council for the final session of 2025. 

The Purpose Lab, a major campaign of The Purpose Coalition, was celebrated at a reception held yesterday at The Vincent Rooms, Westminster, bringing together student ambassadors, universities, colleges, employers and policymakers to celebrate the growing national impact of the Purpose Lab programme.

The national mission to keep Britain working will succeed only if those who understand the workforce best are placed at the heart of the solution.

In recent Purpose Lab sessions, students joined Serco and The Purpose Coalition to explore how a major public-service provider turns purpose into practice - across careers, ESG and colleague networks. 

Purpose Lab student ambassadors explored mental health in the workplace and how to make frontline careers in rail more accessible in two recent sessions with c2c.

The Purpose Lab Student Ambassador programme continues to empower young people with practical, workplace-ready skills.

GA has also become the only operator in the country to hold all four “Operator of the Year” titles concurrently, following wins at the National Transport Awards, National Rail Awards, Spotlight Rail Awards and Rail Business Awards.

She urged employers to prioritise retention of experienced women through informed line management, flexible policies and access to evidence-based clinical support.

E.ON and The Purpose Coalition have unveiled “Place, Partners, Progress: The Breaking Down Barriers Impact Report 2025”

Liverpool Hope University welcomed Ian Byrne MP to its campus, where he toured facilities - including a state-of-the-art simulation lab - met students and staff, and heard about the university’s work in the local community. 

The session underlined E.ON’s commitment to an inclusive approach to early careers and gave them insight into what students really value from work experience.
