My Purpose Lab Experience - Suren Hayrapetyan

This is a guest blog by Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador, Suren Hayrapetyan, who is a student at Liverpool John Moores University.

As a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador, I’ve had the chance to bridge my academic studies with real-world business challenges and it’s been nothing short of transformative.

Through sessions with leading organizations such as KMPT, Enterprise Mobility and the NHS, I’ve deepened my understanding of how different sectors approach responsible and inclusive business practices. The KMPT session offered a powerful look into how mental health services can be reshaped to truly meet community needs, while discussions with the NHS revealed the complexity and importance of system-wide accountability in public health.

A defining moment for me came after our session with Enterprise Mobility. During the session, I proposed modern approach around customer-centric experience design. To my surprise, this idea didn’t just resonate and even more it led to a personal follow-up call with one of their managers. We explored how student perspectives can add real value to corporate innovation. That conversation reinforced my belief that with the right mindset, students can help shape solutions, not just study them.

I’m now looking forward to the upcoming “Place Matters” roundtable at LJMU, which brings together local stakeholders to discuss inclusive growth in Liverpool. It’s opportunities like these that show how powerful student voices can be in driving change.

Purpose Lab hasn’t just enhanced my career readiness, it’s empowered me to lead with purpose and action.
