MP of the Week: Mike Martin

Mike Martin is our MP of the week.

Mike has been doing thoughtful, constituency-focused work recently that deserves recognition.

Over the summer, he’s been pushing forward several constructive local priorities in Tunbridge Wells:

  • GP access and capacity – he’s been working with local NHS bodies and developers to ensure primary care provision keeps pace with population growth.

  • Town centre regeneration – particularly in Paddock Wood and Royal Tunbridge Wells – focused on infrastructure upgrades, economic revitalisation and creating a more welcoming high street environment.

  • Public transport and accessibility – he’s championed a petition (backed by disability groups) to improve accessibility at High Brooms Station, making daily life easier for older and disabled residents.

Each of these efforts reflects a clear focus on barriers to opportunity – whether that’s poor access to healthcare, transport inequality, or the deterioration of shared civic spaces. Mike is bringing together residents, campaigners and service providers to drive improvements locally.
