MP of the Week: Florence Eshalomi

Florence Eshalomi is our MP of the Week.

As Chair of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee, Florence Eshalomi has recently been leading scrutiny on the housing crisis – particularly the impact of rising rents, poor housing conditions and growing homelessness pressures on councils. Through recent committee evidence sessions, she has brought together local authorities, housing providers and tenant groups to examine how housing insecurity is affecting families’ ability to work, study and stay healthy.

This work is especially timely as housing affordability and homelessness continues to be a barrier to opportunity, placing increasing pressure on councils and communities. Alongside the national work, Florence continues to campaign for housing and regeneration issues in Vauxhall and Camberwell Green, advocating for better housing standards and fair access to affordable homes.
