Ian Byrne MP visits Liverpool Hope University
Liverpool Hope University welcomed Ian Byrne MP to its campus, where he toured facilities - including a state-of-the-art simulation lab - met students and staff, and heard about the university’s work in the local community.
During the tour, Byrne, MP for Liverpool West Derby, saw how simulation-based teaching and interdisciplinary spaces in the i3 Building are helping students put theory into practice and develop workplace-ready skills.
The visit showcased how the University is investing in applied, industry-aligned learning and creating clear routes into skilled employment for people across the Liverpool City Region.
The conversations also focused on how Liverpool Hope is supporting its students from a variety of backgrounds - reflected in the University’s leading performance in the latest National Student Survey, where it ranked first in the North West across eight categories.
Dr Penny Haughan Deputy Vice Chancellor said: “It was great to give Ian the opportunity to meet and chat with Hope students. They were proud to show Ian the new teaching and learning facilities we have at Liverpool Hope and to explain to him how these are used to really enhance the academic experience. Our student -centred approach has led to outstanding results in the 2025 National Student Survey.”
