EMS Healthcare Celebrates 25 Years of Impact with Launch of Social Impact Report at the Houses of Parliament

EMS Healthcare has officially launched its first-ever Social Impact Report at the Houses of Parliament, celebrating 25 years at the forefront of delivering innovative mobile medical solutions and transforming access to healthcare and clinical research across the UK.

The landmark event, hosted in partnership with The Purpose Coalition, brought together healthcare leaders, policymakers, clients and partners to reflect on EMS Healthcare’s mission-driven work.

For over 25 years, EMS Healthcare has been dedicated to reducing barriers that impact access to care and participation in medical research. Whether due to location, mobility, or personal circumstances, no individual should be excluded from essential healthcare services or life-changing clinical trials. From flexible community-based research sites, to mobile endoscopy suites, their solutions have supported the NHS, driven medical innovation, and brought vital care and research opportunities directly to underserved communities.

Dr Clare Grace, CEO of EMS Healthcare, commented:

“For 25 years, EMS Healthcare has been at the forefront of delivering mobile medical innovation that changes lives. As someone who has dedicated the majority of their working life to the clinical research industry, I’m incredibly proud to lead an organisation that brings healthcare and trials directly to communities - making access more inclusive, and participation more representative. Our Social Impact Report reflects this commitment. It highlights the power of collaboration, innovation, and bold thinking. If the UK is to remain a global leader in life sciences, we must keep removing barriers and meeting people where they are. This is how we ensure better health outcomes - not just for a few, but for everyone.”

Key findings in the Social Impact Report include:

  • Over 1 million clinical research appointments enabled since 2023

  • 121,000+ patients received vital health services in just 12 months

  • Care delivered to 182 communities, including 100% of the UK’s top 20 most deprived ICB regions

  • 98% of patients rated their mobile care experience as good or excellent

  • 95% of employees believe EMS Healthcare positively impacts society

Chair of the Purpose Coalition and former Education Secretary, Rt Hon Justine Greening, said:

“At a time of critical need in health and social care, the independent sector can play a vital role in helping to tackle the challenges our NHS is currently facing, reducing the burden on facilities and easing pressure to meet increased demand without compromising quality of care. “This report highlights how EMS Healthcare, as a purpose-led, independent healthcare business, is committed to delivering better outcomes for patients from every community, particularly through increased access to mobile medical solutions and groundbreaking clinical research. But it is also driving the kind of far wider change which is transformative. Recruitment from non-traditional talent pipelines, the development and support of staff to create a diverse and inclusive workforce, the use of technology to eliminate health inequality and its effective community work all have a positive social impact which is making a difference across the country.”

EMS Healthcare brings medical services directly to where people live, work, and gather - reducing pressure on hospitals and aligning with the NHS’s move toward preventative, community-based care. In the face of growing healthcare demands, an ageing population, and deepening health inequalities, their mobile medical model offers a scalable, flexible solution. By meeting patients where they are, EMS Healthcare is helping to reimagine a more accessible and equitable healthcare system for all.

In recognition of their contributions, EMS Healthcare received The Spotlight Award at The Purpose Coalition’s Breaking Down Barriers Awards 2025. The organisation’s Head of Outreach Development, Laura Nash, was also honoured with the Special Recognition Award for her leadership in reaching underserved communities.

Looking ahead, EMS Healthcare is calling on NHS Trusts, research institutions, and policymakers to collaborate in shaping a future where healthcare and clinical trials are accessible to all. “This isn’t just a celebration of what we’ve done - it’s a call to action for what we can do next,” added Dr Grace. “We’re ready for the next 25 years - and we want partners to join us in making clinical research more inclusive, more efficient, and more patient-centric.”
