New cross-party partnership will bring together residents, housing providers and other stakeholders to explore how innovation, prevention and digital solutions can support better housing outcomes
Leading property technology company Aareon has joined The Purpose Coalition in a new partnership focused on raising housing standards, tackling inequalities and exploring how technology can help deliver better outcomes for residents across the UK.
Working alongside The Purpose Coalition, chaired by Rt Hon Justine Greening, former Secretary of State for Education, as part of its cross-party work, Aareon will explore how innovation, digital solutions and a greater focus on prevention can help housing providers deliver higher standards while managing growing regulatory and financial pressures.
Building on Aareon's Every Home, Well Run vision, the partnership will examine what residents should be able to expect from a well-run home and how the sector can deliver better outcomes for the people living in them.
Aareon provides technology solutions to housing associations, local authorities, private landlords, letting agents and property managers, helping them manage properties, streamline repairs, meet regulatory requirements and improve services for residents.
The partnership will see a report produced examining the relationship between housing quality, technology and social mobility. The report will draw on Aareon's experience across the social and private housing sectors, alongside insights from residents, housing providers and other stakeholders.
The report will also explore opportunities to improve housing outcomes and make recommendations for the industry and policymakers.
Rt Hon Justine Greening, Chair of The Purpose Coalition, said:
"We are looking forward to working with Aareon because housing is fundamental to social mobility. The quality of the home someone lives in can shape their health, their education and their ability to access opportunities throughout their life. "Central to the partnership will be our shared ambition to put residents at the heart of the housing conversation. Using Aareon's expertise in technology, we can explore how the sector can go further in delivering better homes and better outcomes for communities across the country."
Rachael Baig, Managing Director, Aareon UK, added:
"We believe every resident should be able to expect a well-run home. That's the thinking behind our Every Home, Well Run vision, which explores how better communication, earlier intervention and more responsive housing services can improve outcomes for the people living in our communities. "We're delighted to be partnering with The Purpose Coalition to bring together perspectives from across the housing sector and beyond. Through this work, we want to explore what residents need from modern housing services, share examples of best practice, and identify how innovation can help housing providers deliver safe, transparent and reliable experiences for the people they serve, efficiently."
